EVOC Becomes World´s First Embedded Gold Partner of Microsoft

In the intelligent era when Cloud Computing is advocated, embedded device has been considered as a strategic advantage for many enterprises. When embedded device is incorporated into enterprise operation, it will have direct impact on enterprise efficiency or profitability. From a user experience point of view, increasing number of embedded devices are highlighting their direct operation and interaction features, which not only indicates the needs of enterprise users for efficiency, but also reflects the competition among product solution suppliers. Finding a way to help corporate users correctly operate devices through a simple learning process and make the best use of hardware devices has become one of the important issues for the leading manufacturers in the embedded field who want to further improve their total solutions.

November 2, 2011, Liu Zhiyong, the General Manager of EVOC Intelligent, Sun Yu, the Marketing Director of EVOC Intelligent, Pascal Martin, Microsoft Worldwide General Manager of OEM Embedded Sales, and Mauro Favero, Microsoft Asia Pacific General Manager attended the EVOC-Microsoft Gold Partner Plaque Awarding Ceremony and signed up the Gold Partner Framework in a pleasant atmosphere. Regarding the upgraded partnership between EVOC and Microsoft, Liu Zhiyong, the General Manager of EVOC Intelligent, said "Upgrading of our strategic partnership will further enhance our service capability of providing total solutions, and sharpen our competitive advantages of embedded system. In the future, the EVOC embedded product users who need to develop programs on the Microsoft embedded operating platform will get a better grasp of the development process, and how to create, tailor and customize the embedded system."
Pascal Martin, Microsoft Worldwide General Manager of OEM Embedded Sales, said: "Congratulations to EVOC for becoming a worldwide gold partner of Microsoft. We hope to drive the evolution from embedded system to intelligent system by cooperating with EVOC, a market leader of embedded industry in China. We believe that the intelligent system is going to start a new era of business intelligence, turning data into cash for enterprises".
EVOC has become the first gold partner of Microsoft for embedded applications, partly due to the long-standing mutual trust and partly due to the fact that EVOC runs the first EIP (embedded intelligent platform) engineering center in China. The center consists of 6 subdivisions, including CISC platform research office, RISC platform research office, embedded software research office and EIP applications research office. Unlike individual purchasers, corporate buyers lay more emphasis on system integration in their sourcing of equipment. One-stop providers are able to help trim spending and save personnel costs. Therefore, for suppliers, making concerted efforts with partners is an optimal pattern to do business and share success. The gold partnership between EVOC and Microsoft not only further boosts the relations between the two sides, but facilitates concerted efforts of the two sides on R&D, sales and service.
About embedded system
An embedded system refers to an embedded computer and its application system. It is a computing system embedded inside various devices and application products. Small in size and compact in structure, it is embedded into the device to be controlled for the purpose of signal control. It provides user interfaces, manages information input and output and monitors the operation of device, making the device more intelligent and more cost-effective. An embedded system comprises hardware and software. The hardware is embedded inside the device, in the form of chips, modules, components and controllers. Solidified in ROM or flash memory, the software includes Real Time multi-tasking Operation System and various special software. Both hardware and software can be tailored to meet strict requirements for functionality, size, cost, reliability and power consumption.
